Mrs. MacAuley Quits GOP Post as Woman’s Division Chief

Authorities hunt Anamosa escapees report

Authorities searched today for two men who escaped from the Anamosa state reformatory farm west of here. The wardens identified John Vanen of Grand Rapids Michigan and John Canetable of Fort Dodge as escapees who hijacked a guard’s Chevrolet with yellow wire wheels. Van Eesen had 10 months left on a forgery sentence from Sioux County. Canatable had nine years for auto theft with most of it served. The car was seen heading west from Independence.
