Hunter Killed While Hunting Near Maxwell Iowa
Derwin Allfred formerly of Cambridge Iowa and late of Superior Nebraska was accidentally killed while hunting near Maxwell Iowa last Thursday afternoon. He leaped a gully and a weed fouled the gun causing the discharge that struck him in the breast. He died almost instantly as relatives in Cambridge were notified. The incident occurred while he hunted with his brother in law M S Meyer of Maxwell.

Railroad damages verdicts set by supreme court
Supreme court decisions today upheld a $10 000 Town City verdict for the death of Elmer Little, a brakeman, after his foot was caught in a blocked frog. Rock Island won against Cedar Rapids plaintiff W A Phelps over alleged conductor assault. Mrs Charlotte Platter’s $6000 against the M&St.L. at Ogden was affirmed over a collision claim. No damages were allowed for Ray Ward’s death at Abbott in 1908.
