Obituary: Anna Christine Petersen of Marne Dies at 87
Mrs. Anna Christine Petersen 87 of Marne died at Atlantic Memorial hospital Sunday afternoon from a stroke suffered two weeks earlier. Born June 1 1861 in Copenhagen she moved to Elk Horn then Atlantic area later living in Maine. Surviving five sons and six daughters. Funeral at Oak Hill Lutheran church near Brayton with short service at 1 pm and rites at 2:30 pm conducted by Rev J P Andreasen. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.

Defective furnace gasses family in Freehold NJ
Five members of the Silvers family were killed and three other children were hospitalized after escaping coal gas from a defective furnace in Freehold New Jersey. The victims include Scudder Silvers age 82 his wife Annette 33 his mother Mrs Race Silvers and two daughters Patricia 12 and Joan 8. Three other children Audrey 18 Bruce 10 and Guy 6 were treated at Fitkin Memorial hospital. A pet dog also died. The bodies were found by Dr Daniel Sagotsky who was asked to monitor a TV program.

Louis A. Darling, 61, a former Cass county resident, was found dead in his Des Moines home. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 PM at Roland, Peacock & Baxter, with interment in Wiota cemetery. He was born November 17, 1886 in Franklin township and served in the Navy 1911-1915. Surviving brothers are Willard, Walter of Atlantic and Grover C. of Anita. two brothers Milt and George preceded him in death.
