Thank you to relatives and friends for kindness during my stay at Nebraska Methodist Hospital for surgery. Grateful for cards letters and many callers.
The L P T A will serve coffee in the school gymnasium Thursday morning starting at 9 30. All mothers and teachers are invited to the come as you are coffee.

Lloyd Thompson Sr., 64, a former Bridgewater mail carrier, died Tuesday in Creston from a heart ailment. Survived by wife Etta, son Ivan of Bridgewater, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Creston Presbyterian Church.
Delma Wright awarded Carole Haines for vocal music. Misa Haines to Drake University for music. James Van Ginkel presented the Iowa State Bar Association citizenship award to Taylor. Howard Alin gave the Thespian speech award. Pelzer received a Legion award. Quill and Scroll honors went to John Carl. Janet Malone and Pat Tighe named to Back society. John Carl presided. Mrs. H. M. Boorman spoke on awards as the program closed.
A wind and rain storm in Wever area caused thousands in damage to farm buildings and trees in Lee County. Two hogs were killed when a hog house collapsed on the George Cook farm. Chickens perished on Sophie McCash’s property. A steel corn crib toppled on Grace Lange’s farm and a roof section was blown off. A brief 15 minute rain accompanied the wind catching farmers in fields. Cook recalled sheltering under a rocked tractor as the wind gusted.
Rev and Mrs Arthur Nagel of Winterset formerly of Atlantic announce the birth of their third child on Monday. Parents list Nelda J and a brother Duane with relatives in Greeley California and other areas.

Medical Patient WALNUT Mrs Mastinus Nelson is a medical patient of the Harlan hospital Christensen has been dismissed from the Audubon hospital.
