Ames May 26 The Iowa emergency farm labor program projects a need for more than 64 000 workers to harvest crops and perform detasseling this season. High school students, women, part time workers, and foreign workers are expected to supplement regular hands as farmers enter the fourth World War II production season. John R. Fitzsimmons notes 2 0000 workers could be placed now, with demand rising to over 82 000 by July as counties report shortages.
