Washington May 21 The Interstate Commerce Commission ordered the discontinuance of allowances totaling millions paid to iron and steel industrial railways by trunk line railroads east of the Mississippi and north of the Ohio and Potomac The commission refused to rehear the case on the behalf of United States Steel and other iron and steel firms reaffirming that the allowances were unlawful They estimated about 9 million dollars a year paid to United States Steel and about 13 million total to eastern iron and steel roads could be rebates on freight rates and affect the pending advance rate case
