Son Held for Murder of Mother in Craton Iowa Shaft
Ray Emerson, 36, son of Mrs. Kate Emerson, was arrested on a bench warrant for the murder of his mother whose body was found at the bottom of an elevator shaft in the Emerson furniture store. A coroner's inquest found she was killed and tossed into the shaft amid testimony of quarrels and a bloodstained suit. Judge Fuller ordered a special grand jury to act promptly.
