Iowa Sunday School Convention Opens in Burlington
The Iowa Sunday School association holds its state convention in Burlington May 5 to 7 with large anticipated attendance. Enrollment far exceeds earlier estimates with Burlington reporting about two thousand registrants and many churches pledging two-fifths of their average attendance. Delegates will be housed in private homes under the Harvard plan and speakers include national Sunday School leaders such as Dr. W C Pearce and Dr Edward R Bartlett among others.

Carnegie gift of 60000 to Grinnell College
Grinnell Iowa May day news reports a 60000 gift from the Carnegie Corporation of New York to Grinnell College for support of fine arts work. The gift aids the college’s 1500000 endowment drive, with 500000 of it a conditional grant from the General Education Board.

Hammill to Deliver Address at Iowa Wesleyan Commencement
Governor Hammill will deliver the commencement address at the seventieth annual Iowa Wesleyan College exercises in Mount Pleasant on June 4. President U S Smith will give the baccalaureate sermon on May 31. Iowa Wesleyan will grant 52 degrees this year, including 14 bachelor of science and 38 A B degrees, with the Lowell Anderson Oratorical and Musical Contest on May 29 and the alumni banquet and senior class play to follow.
