Washington March 1 The Webb liquor bill prohibiting shipment of liquor into dry states was repassed in the Senate over President Tafts veto within two hours of the veto message. The final vote stood 63 to 21 as supporters affirmed its constitutionality. Leaders argued the measure merely declared liquor outlaw and set entry conditions for interstate commerce. House action to override the veto was anticipated today.
New York reports say Dun's Review of Trade notes satisfactory activity in many centers with broad product distribution and strong retail trade in good weather areas. Railroads gain 3.2 percent in gross earnings in February as they fund needed supplies and iron and steel stay exceptionally active.
