An advertisement touts Hay's Hair Health as a reliable cure for dandruff and grey hair. It claims rapid scalp cleansing, itch relief, and restoration of color and vitality with a few applications. The ad offers discounted bundles through Moore Drug Co and local druggists.
By June end planets shine as morning stars while Foley's Fancy and Tar Compound touts itself as the Star medicine for coughs colds croup and whooping cough. The ad claims it prevents bronchitis pneumonia and heals inflamed membranes. Genuine in a yellow package sold by druggists. Wilkes Monument Works advertises services in Atlantic Iowa.
Des Moines dispatch reports state and federal veterinarians have begun a sustained campaign against hog cholera in Dallas county. An organized effort assigns township investigators to census swine and place any outbreak under direct department control as farmers agree to the plan.
Gettysburg Pa June 30 thousands of veterans in blue and gray paraded into Gettysburg for the semi centennial commemoration of the Civil War battle. More than thirty special trains brought veterans, with 5000 tents for housing. Heat caused some prostrations and one veteran Augustus D Brown of Liberty Falls Me died. General Hunter Liggett commands the camp as Philadelphia Boy Scouts assist, Red Cross runs rest stations and hospitals, and President Wilson may visit July 4 for a two hour stay.
Washington reports Senator Owen chairman of the senate banking and currency committee says the administration currency bill will become law before September end. He cites aims to mobilize bank deposits and provide an elastic currency for times of need. New York Men Win Turner Evonte.
