Clifford Tredway, 69, prominent Harlan resident and implement dealer, died at his home after a lingering illness. On the first trip Friday the group was accompanied by Mrs. Gerald Taylor Mrs. Hubert Barns and Mrs. Dean Westover the new president for next year.
Safety warning cards bearing the slogan Slow Down and Live will be distributed in Des Moines by the American Legion as part of a traffic safety effort. The program aims to raise driver awareness and reduce accidents through visible reminders.
The State Safety Department prepared 50 fuel cards to be distributed by 43 Iowa American Legion posts during the Fourth of July week. State Commander Churchill Williams of Oolwein offered Legion cooperation in the project.
