Adair Mr and Mrs Frank Ward returned Saturday from Melrose where they attended the funeral of John Ward 80 who had been ill several weeks. Mr Ward had been at his father's bedside the last three weeks.
J W McBurney of Council Bluffs is recovering from a fractured cheek bone at Audrain county hospital in Mexico Missouri after a truck car collision near Mexico on June 14. Also injured were Duane Birks and Ed Chap pell of Logan who have returned home and Leo Bergenquast Verne Tarkington of Avoca who remain hospitalized.
Gladbrook resident and railway station agent William Conrad, 31, of the Chicago and Great Western line at Lincoln near Gladbrook, drowned Sunday evening in Union Grove lake. His body was recovered early Monday morning.
