Brayton will host its first big celebration in ten years on Friday and Saturday with free movies ball games and midway attractions. The event features the Brayton American Legion and a lineup of bands and entertainers including Helen and Toby and the Ranch Hands Matt Gross and his orchestra and Ray Ohde and his orchestra with master of ceremonies Bob Blaylock.
Detroit June 11 The Briggs Manufacturing Co workers 22 500 reached a two year wage and hours contract with the CIO United Auto Workers just before a strike deadline. The settlement provides a 15 cent hour increase plus 111 a half cents and six holidays retroactive to April 28. Maintenance workers gain seven cents an hour and 2 000 non production workers receive 2 to 12 cents. Salaried engineers get at least 26 dollars more per month. The raise costs about 6 million dollars yearly.

Bob Sorensen not included in Hansen relatives list as published.

Ray Dwyer superintendent of the Atlantic Municipal utilities plant says no grate parts have arrived yet. Plants across the country are being contacted to obtain replacements so the boiler can be back on line in about two days. He notes better cooperation among electric consumers aiding load management.

Carman Marshman of Guthrie Center paid 12.50 and costs on a trucking charge. At Casey Mayor Milt Spain fined Mack J. Walker of Stuart five dollars and costs for driving through a stop sign.
John Rhode about 80 longtime Danbury resident was instantly killed when his car collided with a Chicago and North Western train at a Danbury crossing this morning.
