The 1925 state census reports Atlantic gains 148 in population to 5 477 while Cass county shows a loss of 87 since 1920 Cumberland, Massena and Wiota show small gains Griswold Lew is Anita and Marne lose. Cumberland gains 46 Maasena 16 and Wiota 1 while Griswold loses 168 Lew is 36 Maine 53 Anita 79. Cass county population history shows 1900 peak at 21 274 with earlier years 1890 19 646 1895 20 296 1900 21 274 1905 20 222 1910 19 047 1916 19 787 1920 40 421. Legion Auxiliary Favors Prepared Ness New Officers
In Dubuque Iowa on January 5 the American Legion auxiliary completed its state convention. Resolutions endorsed national preparedness and created the Harriott Hoffman Educational Fund to aid children of World War I victims pursuing college educations. Next year’s officers include President A W Hinderman Wapello Vice President Martha McGowan Obeydan and Secretary Gwendolyn MacDowell Des Moines.
