Public notice records a special meeting in Atlantic Cass county Iowa on December 29 1917 where stockholders unanimously resolved to dissolve the Iowa Loan and Investment Company and surrender its charter. At American general headquarters on July 14 Warren Pershing son of General Pershing was presented a volume of French historical episodes by the Lyce graduates after diplomas were handed to the class. The eight year old survivor of the 1913 Presidio fire in San Francisco, he is known as Jack and as Warren after his grandfather Senator Warren.

The Cass County board of supervisors agreed with Atlantic leaders to shape and maintain all roads leading out of the city in the second supervisor district. Mayor Burnea and local council members backed timely dragging and patrol duties to improve highway conditions promptly.
