Nevada launches super dreadnaught in Quincy ceremony
The battleship Nevada, a new type of super-dreadnaught, was launched in Quincy with an address by Secretary of the Navy Daniels. Sister ship to Oklahoma, Nevada’s keel was laid November 1, 1912, and she ready for service in January 1914. Displacement 27,300 tons, speed 20.5 knots.
