Washington July 12 The Republican National Committee raised 1.9 million dollars in 1904 for Theodore Roosevelt’s presidential bid, according to George B Cortelyou then chairman who testified before the Senate campaign contributions committee. He said early in the campaign general rules guided contributions and detailed gifts were uncommon as the race progressed. One rule was no promise or pledge attached to contributions.
