The Paul Irvin family returned from a Colorado holiday trip and now live in a trailer near the Eno Schroeder place. Mr and Mrs Bernard Steffens and family and the F H McDermotts of Wiota joined Tom McDermott’s birthday gathering Wednesday at his home. The Eno Schroeder and Don Schroeder families visited John Duggan and E J Hopkins homes in Griswold Sunday. Ev Mueller, Ben Johnson and Mose Bell attended a hockey game in Omaha Saturday. Friday evening amateurs Frank Braden and Joe Easter of Griswold, Eldon Heurer of Red Oak, Ev Mueller, Eno and Don Schroeder met professionals Hank Mueller, Duane Tanner, Harry Lehmkuhl, Cecil and Hill Pelzer at the Atlantic bowling alley. the amateurs lost.
Massena residents the Durfees and Clyde Chapman purchase properties in Massena. Mrs Guy Durfee and partner acquire a five room home on west Cedar Mee ora tor area, with possession on March 1 as Ranney family moves to a farm west of town. The Durfees plan to modernize before moving in. Chap mans close a deal with J H Pace for a four room cottage on Plum street, Pace recently bought at auction from Eva Weld estate. The Chap mans will occupy the Plum street home working from a nearby filling station area.
Elk Horn Mrs Milo Andersen and Mr Milo Andersen hosted relatives at a Sunday dinner. Guests included Donna Jean Hansen, daughter of Mr and Mrs Howard Hansen, and Sarah Jane Hansen, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Hansen, sharing a family gathering in Elk Horn.
Sander and baptism at the Lutheran church were reported on Sunday morning. Mrs. Clara Carstensen visited Shelby to stay with Elmer Carstensen. Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Hansen hosted dinner Saturday evening with the Gude and Simonsen families, the Warren Jacobsen family, Rita Hansen, and Allan Larsen, who sang two selections "Song of Songs" and "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" with Mrs. Wm. Van Duger on piano.
