Memorial services held for Norbert Wilson son of Mr and Mrs Edward Wilson. Born May 5, 1899 near Elliott, he died in France January 6, 1918 of scarlet fever. He volunteered June 6, 1917, enlisting in Co AF at Red Oak, later mobilized in Des Moines and Long Island before sailing for France. Requiem high mass at St Mary's Griswold. Rev Fath Ostdelk delivered sermon.

The Board of Supervisors of Atlantic Iowa met in regular session on January 2 1918 with D J Bodo A G Highley W D Bell C A Zellmer and Mike Metz present Di Zellmer was elected temporary chairman W D Bell was unanimously chosen chairman for 1918 Committees were formed to oversee court house and grounds county farm and cash in treasurer hands Delinquent taxes for 1912 and earlier were declared unavailable The county attorney rent and expenses for 1918 were approved at 175 and C X Marvin was hired as county farm steward at 110 per month
