Finalists named in Iowa Federation essay contest

The six finalists for the Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs high school seniors essay contest were announced by Mrs. William A. Seidler of Jamaica. The finalists are Marvin Gatch Tripoli Edna Robinson Leon Narlan Hahn Osage Beverly Birchmier Bloomfield Mary Jane Madsen Shelby and Norman Van de Kamp Laurel. Two winners win an all expense flight to Washington DC to appear on the College News Conference with moderator Mrs. Ruth Geri Hagy. The other four receive bonds worth 100 50 or 25 dollars. There were 248 entries. The topic was The Blessings of Liberty.
