Funeral Wednesday at 10 a m at the Roland Peacock Baxter funeral home with Rev A Breeling officiating. Interment in Cumberland cemetery.

Death Claims Bert L. Butler Prominent Atlantic Clothier
Bert L. Butler, 68, well known in Atlantic and southwestern Iowa, died of heart disease Monday at Adair’s Garden Hospital after a decline in health. A longtime local clothier and civic participant, he led Steinke & Butler and served in the Chamber of Commerce, Masons, Eastern Star, 4-H, Rainbow Girls, and local boards. He was born Aug. 20, 1880, on a farm north of Atlantic, married Maggie Meeadfoot in 1904, and is survived by his widow, daughter Aletha Ripley, grandson Randall Butler Ripley, two brothers, a sister, and other relatives. Funeral arrangements set for Wednesday at the local Methodist Episcopal church with interment in Atlantic cemetery.

Spencer Iowa January 8 Department of commerce officials investigated the crash that killed Robert Erickson 20 after his small biplane stalled at about 200 feet over Spencer Municipal Airport.
