Charles Nord 41 Dies of Heart Attack in West Des Moines
Charles J. Nord 41, formerly of Atlantic, died suddenly at his West Des Moines home from a heart attack. He was born October 7, 1915 in Creston, moved to Atlantic in 1926, and married Rosemary Brown in 1938. Nord worked in his family’s grocery, with Prudential, then ran the Atlantic state police radio station and later headed the Des Moines police radio. He was a supervisor at Electronic Engineering in Des Moines and belonged to St Mark’s Lutheran Church. He leaves his wife, three children, and parents Oscar and Lola Nord. Funeral at St Mark’s Lutheran Thursday at 10, with burial in Atlantic Cemetery.
