John Garland Pollard has been named by President Wilson to succeed former New Jersey Governor J. Franklin Fort on the Federal Trade Commission. A Virginia bar leader and former attorney general of Virginia, Pollard studied at Richmond College and Columbia Law School, began practice in Richmond in 1892, and has been active in Democratic politics including a presidential elector in 1904 and a recent gubernatorial candidate in Virginia.
