Des Moines February 7 The legislature moves to overhaul the state fair by asking efficiency engineers to probe the board of directors business methods A bill may create a governor appointed commission to run the fair with senate consent and district elected directors as an alternative plan Senator Chase introduced the measure urging a reform probe in a speech hinting at irregularities.
El Paso Mexican consul Enrique Llorente faces a federal warrant for conspiracy to ship arms from the United States to Mexico. The case centers on a 1912 incident in which money was provided to purchase arms for federal forces, with Alberto Madero also implicated. Llorente had been relieved of duty and was due to depart for Mexico City.

William Ehler a 35 year old wealthy Cleghorn farmer shot himself in the Lang home at 414 Jennings street in Sioux City as Mrs. Bertha Lang telephoned.
