Pneumonia Jacket Work By Red Cross Seams in Marengo
In Marengo on February 5 the town's Red Cross seamstresses began making pneumonia jackets for Red Cross and army hospitals. The jackets are worn next to the body by pneumonia patients and consist of thin gauze with a cotton layer. Mrs. Ida Anderson of Iowa City trained the local workers.

Jones Acquitted in Sioux City Murder Case
Leonard Jones was acquitted by a jury on February 5 of murdering William Bishop last May. Two men now at the Ans mosa reformatory testified against him, confessing to their parts.
