Kunze Of Atlantic Injured In Two Car Crash
Marion W. Kunze aged 53 of 1106 Poplar is hospitalized at Atlantic Memorial after his westbound 1958 Studebaker collided head on with Roma Thayer of Oakland driving a 1955 Mercury on snow packed highway 83 east of Walnut at 7 45 this morning. Kunze sustained chest and back injuries and is undergoing X ray treatment while Mrs Thayer escaped with minor bruises. Sheriff Robert Clark reports both cars suffered front end damage and the Walnut emergency unit rushed Kunze to hospital. Damages estimate not available.

Driver Dead as Bus Collision Near Rogers Nebraska

Three Women and Baby Die After Highway Collision
Four from Sioux Rapids, including Delores Jan Johnson's 17 month old daughter, die in a crash when a southbound car on U S Highway 71 hits a Rock Island work train. Mrs. Inga Salveson 63 and Mrs. Lewis Hanson 51 perished, Delores Johnson's infant died at the scene, Mrs. Vance Adams 51 dies later in Spencer hospital. Mrs. Johnson is in serious condition. The wreck occurred six miles north of Sioux Rapids in Clay County around 6 05 pm as the car approached the crossing on a slippery stretch of roadway on a 20 mile trip from Sioux Rapids to Spencer.
