Des Moines reports H. C. Burwell alias Charles P. Jones alias Charles P. Brown, a noted Iowa forger, arrested in Kansas City and held in Pawnee City Neb. He defrauded a Pawnee City man of 2500 with forged deed and mortgage. Burwell linked to Dysart Iowa deed forgery and a 2500 mortgage in Mitchell South Dakota. Associated with Kline, a long-time forger with 25 aliases and a $150,000 real estate swindle record.

Convict No 8586 Given Christmas Commutation to 17.5 Years
Des Moines reports Convict No 8586 at Fort Madison has his life sentence reduced to seventeen and a half years with ten years added as good time and will be released next April twenty third. Alexander, a colored man who killed his brother in Des Moines in 1904, received the pardon after the governor and parole board favored manslaughter as the probable charge and noted his education, good record, and planned reunion with his wife in Omaha. His parents in Lexington, Missouri, await his release to support them in their old age.
