American Fliers Decorated by Polish Commander at Lemberg
Nike members of the Kosciuszko air squadron, largely American, received Poland’s highest military honors at the squadron aerodrome near Lemberg. General Stanislas Haller pinned the medals and kissed each aviator, a Polish custom. Decorations went to Capt. Geo. M. Crawford, Lieuts. Elliott W. Chess, Harmon C. Robson, Kenneth O. Shrewsbury, Carl Clark, George Weber, Wladyslaw Konopka, Alexander Senskowski, and Capt. Meriun G. Cooper, with others previously honored including Lieut. Colonel Cedric E. Faunteroy and Lieut. Edwin Noble.
