Pioneer Hancock Resident Passes Away Last Night
Dee Gial to News Telegraph reports Hancock resident and early settler Dr Birney died late last night after a period of illness. Born July 12 1851 in Pittsburgh he came to the area in 1872. He married Mattie Sinclair in 1879 and leaves a wife two daughters Mrs George Davis Avoca and Mrs Chester Cooper Pilger Neb and son Ray Hancock. Interment at Hames Cemetery. Funeral at local M E Church Saturday at 2. Interment will follow in Hames Cemetery.

Buck Creek Ladies Aid society met at 60 Oak Street home of Rh E Harris with twenty one members and several visitors present. Hostesses served sandwiches jad cookies and coffee. total of Fa.15 was collected. Next meeting planned at Kensington church with program by central division. Benton Township Farm Bureau held a well attended meeting at Highland church with talks on the National Growers association and state warehousing acts plus musical numbers.
