Jaycees Lamrich Christmas Tour Aids Elim Home

The Atlantic Junior Chamber launches its second annual Children’s Christmas Tour to bring gifts and joy to seven Elim’s home youngsters in Ek Horn. On December 14 the group and wives escort the children to Atlantic for gifts, theatre, and a party at St Pauls Church with lunch and wrapping time. Contributions fund the celebration via local banks and Jaycee members.

Sputnik fall mystery and US satellite plans in 1958

Butter theft leads hunters to missing trailer in Boston

Sterling Wellingham of Rolfe Iowa and John Arnold of Chicago reported a trailer carrying 39 000 pounds of butter stolen in Boston. The State Brand Creameries of Iowa owned the trailer and butter and the vehicle vanished after being parked Sunday in South Boston. Hurricanes Nina batter Kauai as rivulets flood towns

About 1,100 residents including fishermen and cane workers were evacuated to schools as Hurricane Nina struck Kauai with 90 mph winds. Neighbor finds man unconscious in garage
