Two Air Force Pilots Die In Jet Crash
In Lauderdale Mississippi two Air Force pilots Capt. William T. Davis of Mobile Alabama and Lt. Thaddeus R. Miller of Cedar Rapids Iowa died when a training jet crashed near a wooded area after the pilot swerved to miss a collision. The crash occurred near Lauderdale High School where Rubern Knight observed the jet approaching from the east. An investigation team from Eglin Field Florida was dispatched to determine the cause of the crash. Miller is survived by his widow Mary Joyce Miller and son Thaddeus Roland of Mary Esther Florida and his parents Mr and Mrs Thaddeus Roosevelt Mer of Cedar Rapids.

Mason City Man Burned in Cement Plant Blast

Crash Fatal to Two Iowans near Grinnell
Two Des Moines residents died and a third was injured in a Saturday auto crash on Highway 6 west of Grinnell while returning from Montezuma. George Tucker, 35, was killed when ejected from the car. James Grider Sr. 57 of Rockwell City died here from injuries after an auto train crash at Rockwell City Friday.
