The Cumberland Methodist Sabbath School class held a Friday banquet in the K P hall with purple and gold decor. Over fifty attendees dined on a four course meal served by Misses Petrus Reed Hoyt Breeling. Speakers and toasts followed with names including Maurice Ostrus Hughes Stone Miss McChord Van Vinck Miss Peterson Mrs Williams and Rev Breeling among presenters and responders. The Mutual Benefit class has formed and grown under Mrs Fy CG Williams with rising attendance and active effort. Remember the Presbyterian Ladies tea at the church in December.
Griswold notes list residents and visitors: Mrs. W. O. B. Honey of Red Oak came for a few days to see granddaughter Mrs. Milo Hubbard and Wilbur Davis who has worked in Colorado. Miss Grethel Griffith from Clearfield teaching west of town returns for Thanksgiving with Prof. John Griffith. Several locals traveled to Atlantic and Red Oak for meetings or visits, including James Casey, Tom Casey, and families, amid Thanksgiving preparations and reunion plans.
Mr and Mrs Wm Alexander returned from Stennett and plan a brief stay before Dakota. James Farrell and sister Maryann attended the funeral of Miss Nellie Phalan in Red Oak. Rev Father O Donnell returned to Red Oak after visiting Reno. Mrs James O Connor visited Red Oak. Harry Childe of Kansas City visited Griswold. Ida Donahoe and her mother Mrs Albert Goessiing, after two weeks in Quincy and Illinois, returned home. Mr and Mrs Ira Panchal of Elliott visited Mrs W H Van. Mr and Mrs Jamen O Connor and Mrs Janie Potts visited Massena at the John Casey home. Pearl Robinson and Mrs Aus tin Baughman shopped in Atlantic. Chas Wyman returned to Regent, N Dakota after visiting. Mrs M A Page leaves for Casper to spend winter with relatives. Griswold depot adopts eight hour system, closing at 6. Mr and Mrs Wm Alexander visit Casey then return to North Dakota. John Christian and Andy Hansen later attend Miss Nellie Phalan’s funeral at Red Oak Catholic church.
