Methodists of Atlantic greet news that Des Moines will host the world's quadrennial Methodist conference in 1920. Nearly one thousand delegates are expected from global churches, boards secretaries, and 180 conferences, gathered with bishops and other denominations for this portable gathering held every four years. Grinnell April 22 Professor Lewis Allard exchange professor from Harvard told Grinnell College students that America should have entered World War I a year earlier. He served in French ambulance service and British army as interpreter before returning to the United States in 1916 at President Lowell's request.

The Adair Improvement Association leads a program featuring Fontanella’s Ladies Rainbow band and bands from Stuart Casey and Guthrie Center. Speeches by Hon. James Blythe and Hon. Carl F. Kuehnle are planned plus two state figures. Public urged to view war trophies on the special train and enjoy patriotic addresses. Adair and Atlantic are the only Rock Island stops between Council Bluffs and Des Moines.

Final plans for Jos. F. Hickey of St. Louis Supreme Regent of the Royal Arcanum, to visit Omaha April 28 to install the state Grand Council Officers at the annual Grand Council meeting. Secretary Stanley P. Bostwick expects delegation from forty lodges statewide.
By a referendum vote the Nebraska bankers decided to hold their annual meeting in Omaha on June 11 and 12. Previously it was held in the fall but influenza prevented a gathering last year. The group may shift future meetings to spring or early summer. Finish the job Big Victory Bonds.
