Avoca Iowa April 20 Mrs Carl Nelson of Avoca president of the local American Legion auxiliary unit was chosen Pottawattamie county president at the council Bluffs convention. Other officers include Mrs Juli Jensen Neola vice president and Mrs E W Rockwell Council Bluffs secretary treasurer. Nelson active in local auxiliary affairs for years. Patterson of Carson named county Legion head. officers to be installed next August.
Miss Adria Titterington was elected general secretary of the YWCA in Des Moines, succeeding Dean Charien Burrows of Simpson College who led the Town Association for Social Welfare. New officers named include Ted Johnson of Knoxville as first vice president J H Godfring of Sioux City as second vice president Miss Elizabeth Mills of Iowa City as third vice president Miss Helen Cresswell of Des Moines as secretary and Dr J W Layman of Des Moines as treasurer Sioux City was chosen to host the 1941 convention.
