New York April 14 arrests seized seventy seven Red Star Line stewards and stewardesses aboard the Kroonland for alleged alien contract labor law violations. The group had been brought from England last January on the Finland and transferred to the Kroonland after arrival. Conviction could bring $1000 per alien employed. Officer George W. Moore said most would be sent to Miss Island. wages for aliens were about half that of Americans.
