Iowa to Have State Park Surrounding Capitol Grounds
Des Moines April 14 The Thirty fifth general assembly approves purchasing land around the capitol to form a sixty five acre state park. Funds will come from a ten year tax totaling nearly 1 800 000. The plan vacates streets and places the Soldiers' Monument and Allison memorial within a grand park. No new office building is authorized now with temporary offices to be used pending future construction.
