The list also names eighteen lakes where landings are restricted to emergencies and notes other lakes where landings are not prohibited but discouraged.
Audubon A county wide dairy herd improvement association organized last week with about 20 members. George B Jensen of Extra was elected president Garland Nelson of Atlantic vice president EB Rasmusen of Audubon secretary treasurer and Elvin Petersen and Clarice Smith as directors. The group seeks a local young man to take a short course at Iowa State College in May to qualify as dairy herd supervisor and begin June 1. The supervisor will visit a member farm one day each month to show how to reduce feed costs cull unprofitable cows and improve profitability of dairying.
Elk Horn resident Robert Petersen becomes sole owner of the Elk Horn cafe after purchasing the Witéest from Mr and Mrs Don Smith. The Smiths will live in Marshalltown once suitable quarters are found. Petersen will continue with Farmers Produce and Feed and hire staff to run the cafe.
Edward G. Carlson of Creston was elected one of three new directors at the 16th annual convention of the Des Moines Independent Telephone Association. W. A. Fowler of Pella was re-elected president.
