Boy Ends Own Life After Fort Des Moines Fight
In Indianola Iowa on September 24 John Huttman a 14 year old boy reportedly involved in a fight with a soldier at Fort Des Moines shot himself in the head with a .22 rifle at his parents farm home near Indianola. He died after three hours in agony. The tragedy followed a recent confrontation over a girl, neighbors say he was in distress and had been in a curling affray. Coroner Hooper was notified.

In Buchanan county Virginia six members of the Justis Meadows family were slain and the house burned on September 4. The elder aunt Betty Justis was believed to keep a large sum of money.
