Elopement ends in forgiveness as Brownsville couple wed
In Brownsville Pennsylvania a 16 year old girl Ethel English elopes with 23 year old Clark Breckenridge after a whirlwind courtship in Carmichael. They marry in Steubenville, flee to West Virginia, face perjury and habeas corpus actions, then return home where the girl's father Dr. English spanks the groom and forgives the couple. The two families clash before the father relents and the couple are united with support from relatives and moneyed backgrounds.
