Great Church Conference Opens At Baltimore
The quadrennial session of the General Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church opened in Baltimore in May and will run into the first week of June. The assembly, the churchs supreme body, includes about 850 delegates from a global network of 2,000,000 members, with 20,000 ministers and 14,000 local preachers. The meeting plans to discuss new bishops, German representation, publishing interests, and Afro American church questions as leaders debate candidate names and mission fields.
