Cuykendall Loses Mules Farm Barn in Shenandoah Fire
TW Cuykendall owner of the Atlantic Canning Factory reports a barn fire at Shenandoah that destroyed twelve mules and wagons and hay. The structure stood across the railroad from the Shenandoah factory on a farm rented by Cuykendall. Insurance valued at 2500 on contents was found by his manager Tharpe, lowering total loss to about 4000 to 4500. Cuykendall left for Shenandoah to handle the aftermath and plans to replace the mules as soon as possible.

Fire injures horse as team slips near fire barn
Patch, a fire horse, was slightly injured when the team started toward the fire yesterday evening. He slipped on the Fifth street crossing near the fire barn, skinned a knee, with no other injuries. A rubbish fire behind the West Sixth Street barn caused the alarm. firefighters found no blaze. An Official Board meeting is set for Wednesday June 15 after prayer, with Dr Francis L Strickland expected to attend the Epworth League convention on June 26.

Fugitive Daw son Captured Near Carson Train
John Dawson, accused horse thief indicted ten days earlier, was arrested near Carson Iowa by Marshal Bradley yesterday. Suspected after a recent theft from Henry Snape’s barn, Dawson had been seen heading toward Frank Smith’s home. He was detained in Carson then sent to Council Bluffs jail.

Narrow escape as auto plunges into creek
A Mason car carrying Chas Baxter his wife and children and two guests slid off a bridge into Trouble Creek after a farmer crowded them toward the bank.
