Word sails that Andy Hansen will soon return home from Denmark. In town, about thirty five youths gathered at T. W. Davis home for a general good time. Leon Carpenter, secretary to Senator Tobe Smith, is home briefly to attend a home talent play. Blanche Giles returned to Villisca after visiting her aunt, Mrs. J. D. Gordon. Mrs. Maude Head of Jefferson visited her parents here and went home. Dr C R Jones’s birthday event drew many little folks for a sixth birthday celebration. Clarve Moore suffered an accident at Joyce Lumber yard injuring an ankle and tearing tendons. Ed Reand, new owner of Riley McDowell property, has a crew at work on a new barn. L C Reidman, recently selling personal effects, now resides in Griswold working for George Schuler. F J Wohlenhaus shipped six carloads of pigs to Des Moines from Lyman. Mrs. Jack Greives returned to Texas after visiting Griswold for her father’s illness. An oyster supper hosted by the ladies of the Christian church was a success.

Osborne to donate baby cab to firemen

Humerick Sale A Big Success At Swab Barn
The Humerick sale at the Swab feed barn drew fair attendance and solid prices. Hogs averaged between 41 and 42 dollars per head, while a top price of 115 dollars was paid for a single animal. Col Ross Lang opened with a span of geldings selling for 450 dollars, and Col Chamberlain sold one horse for 130 dollars. The event included hog lots bid up by Col Krascher of Harlan. Remains of Mrs. Rose Colwell arrived from Des Moines for funeral arrangements in Atlantic near relatives.
