Fred Seifert known as Sunday’s Broncho Buster is a longtime Iowa figure connected to Billy Sunday tabernacles. Iowa poised to become a major packing center
Dubuque investors plan a $100,000 packing plant to supply Midwest and export markets. The argument notes that local slaughterhouses raise prices for farmers, boost Iowa labor and taxes, and leverage proximity to Chicago packers. With new plants, Iowa could ship dressed meats south and east and even compete for export after improvements to canals and river transport.
