Hotel law voided by Iowa court ruling
The Des Moines Capital reports Iowa’s hotel inspection law is unconstitutional and void as class legislation. Judge McHenry ruled that if any part is invalid, the whole law stands or falls, citing the ten room threshold for inns hotels and lodging houses and distinguishing based on room count rather than fire or ventilation concerns.
