The Cosson law is deemed a product of anti liquor sentiment and the removal statute is upheld. The opinion states a mayor is on duty at all times and intoxication during term justifies removal.
Judge Ralph Campbell sustains the demurrers in United States suits to set aside deeds and fences by citizen allottees in the five eastern Oklahoma tribes. The decision holds Indians are U.S. citizens with full rights and immunities, vacating the government's attempt to act as trustee or guardian. He names Milwaukee judge Emil Walker as attorney and seeks collection of mortgages totaling 5 000. The 1906 purchase collapsed after his disappearance in 1907 amid marriage plans and a vague letter from Chicago.
Mrs Stella Barclay of Buffalo New York held for kidnapping Marian Bleakley the incubator baby was released on bond and departed to Jefferson City to oppose requisition papers for her return to Kansas for trial.

Washington reports a Rotterdam dispatch clarifies the cholera situation and eases officials' fears. The consul says the Andylt left Rotterdam before cases were reported and did not carry cholera. Wyman orders Wollenburg to Naples to enforce US vessel sailing regulations as safeguards. Rotterdam notes four deaths from cholera and three of nine suspected cases in isolation tests positive.
Philadelphia report from August 28 states Frank Walsh aged 16 died after a fist fight in the northeast when he fell backward and died upon being picked up. His opponent Eugene Rahill, also 16, thought the fall was due to weakness and was about to strike again before bystanders separated them.
In New Orleans on August 28 Margaret Leathers, described as an egress, laughed heartily during a theater performance and collapsed unconsciousness. She died before medical aid could reach her.
In Maryville Jil on August 28 a fan used to pump air into a coal mine began suddenly during repairs by William Manvey and Albert Catharding. Both men were pulled into the machinery and killed.
Pittsburg Pennsylvania August 28 200 foreign import workers about 200 quit the Pressed Steel Car Company at McKees Rocks and march to the Ohio river to camp until paid. They plan to return home after receiving due wages as 300 workers remain. Desertions blamed on poor food and harsh conditions. Troops reinforce near the plant as strikers and sympathizers celebrate with songs.
In front of about 1,000 spectators at Inter Park Cairo Illinois second baseman William Bedford of the Cuban Giants was struck by lightning and killed during practice before a game with Atlantic City. Walter Gordon and Charles Follis were knocked down but unharmed. Spectators panicked but none were injured.
