On July 20, before Justice Pressnall, Har mon Coal Company of Chicago sued Rock Island railway for coal lost in transit. Judgment was $10, and costs. Rock Island appeals to the district court by writ of error, arguing rulings were errors and motions were blocked. A certified 120 page transcript was filed. Report says 300 similar claims may follow if this fails.

Lewis New Postoffice Moves to Brick Building
W B Davis, postmaster at Lewis, visited the city Sunday to announce the Lewis postoffice has moved to a new brick building on the site of the old one. The structure, fifty feet wide, houses the post office and a restaurant with a hall for Modern Woodmen above two rooms. Davis says the new room improves handling of Uncle Sam’s business and his drug trade.
