Atlantic maneuvers off Provincetown reveal naval might

The Atlantic fleet staged mock combat off Provincetown Massachusetts from July 7 to August 4. Rear Admiral Seaton Schroeder commanded 16,000 ton battleship Connecticut and a diverse force including torpedo boats and submarines. Night firing and wireless torpedo use showcased evolving naval technology as President Taft and Secretary Meyer watched.
