Farmers protest letter to state grain board over dockage rules
Walla Walla farmers led by J H Stine urge W H Reed of the state grain commission to intervene against the Washington Flour Millers association code for wheat purchases. They object to higher dockage for smutty wheat, seek previous year grades, and ask enforcement of old rules at the coming board meeting in Tacoma. The millers' rule sets five to twenty cent discounts for smutty wheat and disqualifies minor blemishes as smut.
