The death of William J. King a respected planner and well known in Vila county occurred at his brother John J. King’s home west of town after a brief illness on the way from Clarenos Zertn farm. He died at six o clock after a sudden attack. Funeral was held at the Methodist church with Rev. W. Reuters officiating and burial at Athena cemetery. Born January 17 1804 in Indiana county Missouri he came to California in 1867 then moved to Oregon Linne county in 1869 and to Umatilla county in 1870. He married Malinda Hymer in 1890 and joined the M K Church in 1905. He died September 9 1910 at age 62 years seven months and Y days. He was the eldest of a family of one children all of whom survive. The notice notes many kin in Idaho Oregon and California and mentions upcoming Round-Up dignitaries in late Apps.
