Cattle Movement From Range Affects Walla Walla Demand
W. B. Taylor drove part of his cattle off the mountains to alfalfa pasture near town as most stock comes off the summer range in fair condition. A small portion of prime beef stock remains in the southeast mo range around Atbeva, with buyers this year unable to assemble a full carload. Stockman Wyrick faces losses for failing to deliver 100 prime steers to Walla Walla buyers due to only 25 head meeting grade. Taylor plans to move his stock to the John Day range next season citing better range there near the headwaters of the Umatilla.
